Whale Obsessions

So I have been thinking a lot about the music I wanted to choose for my project.

I wanted something different. 

So this is what happened...

I was feeling a bit muddled and thinking maybe it would be best to stick to the choices, and then yesterday evening I began to watch a documentary about whales and the sounds that they can produce under water. Being an animal enthusiast I naturally decided it would be great fun to incorporate one of my interests  (animals ) into my other interest (textiles) and this would also keep be occupied enough to start my project off with a bit of a push. 

Normally I struggle to begin my projects, and so I am glad that this time I will be able to begin immediately even if I need to do a bit of background research to start with. 

Visions Of Sound Project Choice

T H E   B R I E F

It took me a few days to be able to decide which project to go for. 

I am so indecisive but I decided to use Alex's advice from the welcome lecture to guide me...

Use this year to experiment.... Try things you normally wouldn't try... Make the most of your second year ..... Take Risks....  Challenge Yourself. 

And so I would normally have picked  'Future Past' but instead I have picked something completely out of my comfort zone   'Visions of Sound'

Oh god. 

I think that this project will definitely push me out of my comfort zone and hopefully into some more abstract work which I always seem to struggle with. Hopefully I will stop being so literal with my sketchbook work and really try to challenge myself in this unit. I really like the sound of 'conveying a visual language' and will give this a good go!

As for music choices, I am not yet sure which one I want to pick; I want to go for something different which is not on the list . . .
